RAINBOW ANGEL CAKE | |
1 pkg. angel food cake mix 1 tsp. grated lemon or orange peel 6-8 drops green food color 6-8 drops yellow food color 6-8 drops red food color GLAZE: 2/3 c. powdered sugar 2 tbsp. butter, melted 1-2 tbsp. lemon or orange juice Prepare cake mix as directed on package, except add lemon peel. Divide batter evenly among 3 bowls. Fold one food color into each bowl of batter. Pour batter into ungreased tube pan, spreading evenly between each color and after last color. Bake and cool as directed on package. Drizzle with glaze. (May use other colors if desired.) GLAZE: Mix powdered sugar and butter. Stir in 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Stir in additional lemon juice, 1 teaspoon at a time, until glaze is of desired consistency. |
