MOLASSES POPCORN BALLS | |
2/3 c. molasses 1 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. water 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vinegar 3 tbsp. butter 15 c. popped corn Combine molasses, sugar, water, vinegar, and salt in heavy saucepan. Place over low heat, stirring until mixture begins to boil. Cook, without stirring, to 275 degrees or until a few drops form hard ball when dropped in cold water. Remove from heat; add butter, stirring only enough to combine with other ingredients. Pour over popcorn in a large greased pan, using a wooden spoon to mix well until every kernel is coated. With hands slightly greased form popcorn into balls, using only a little pressure so they will stay together. |
