SAND TARTS 
1 lb. butter, softened
2 c. pecans, ground
6 tbsp. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
1 tbsp. water

Mix in order given. Mold into pieces the size of Brazil nuts. Bake 30 minutes in moderate (350 degree) oven. Roll in powdered sugar while warm.

Note: I use a heavy duty mixer and beat all ingredients with the mixer until about half of the flour has been added, then finish by hand.
