BLACK BEAN SOUP 
1 pkg. dried black beans
1 onion, chopped
5 to 6 chicken bouillon cubes
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
6 c. water
1 c. cubed ham

Wash beans; add water and bring to a boil. Cover and turn off stove. Let set overnight. Next day, add remaining ingredients. Simmer all day or until beans are done. Serve with couple of tablespoons of cream in each soup bowl.
