HAMBURGER CORN PONE 
1 lb. hamburger
3-4 sm. onions
1 can tomatoes
1 can kidney beans
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper
1 tsp. chili powder
1/2 recipe of corn bread (if you make if yourself) or 1 box of corn bread mix

1. Fry hamburger, until brown, slightly fry onions at last.

2. Add can tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, chili powder, and 1/2 cup water.

3. Put lid on pan, and simmer 20 minutes.

4. In a baking pan or dish which is greased, put kidney beans.

5. Add meat mixture after simmered to kidney beans.

6. Put 1/2 recipe of corn bread batter on top mixture, or 1 box of ready made mixture on top.

7. Bake 25-30 minutes in oven 425 degrees.

GOLDEN CORN BREAD:

1 c. yellow corn meal
1 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1/4 c. vegetable shortening

Combine corn meal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk, egg, and shortening. Mix well. Bake in greased 8 inch square pan at 425 degrees for 20- 25 minutes or use half for above recipe and make a smaller pan of corn bread.
