TEXAS CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. cocoa
1 c. boiling water
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine dry ingredients in mixing bowl. Place Crisco, butter, cocoa, and water in saucepan and bring to a rapid boil. Pour into the flour mixture. Beat in eggs, buttermilk and vanilla, blending well. Pour into a greased and floured 15 x 11 inch cookie sheet with sides. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Ice while warm.

CHOCOLATE NUT ICING|:

1/4 c. cocoa
1/2 c. butter
6 tbsp. milk
1 pound confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

Heat together the above ingredients. When this has just come to a boil, blend in remaining ingredients.
