ORANGE JUICE CAKE 
3 c. sifted cake flour
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2/3 c. butter
1 tbsp. grated orange rind
1 2/3 c. sugar
2 eggs, unbeaten
1/4 c. milk
1 c. orange juice

Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together into a small bowl and set aside. Cream shortening and orange rind thoroughly. Gradually add sugar and cream together until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each one. Add flour mixture alternately with milk first and then with orange juice, beating after each additional until smooth. Pour batter into two 9 or three 8 inch layer pans, lined on the bottom with wax paper, greased and floured. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes for 9 inch pans or 20-25 minutes for 8 inch pans.
