BUTTER PECAN NUGGETS 
3/4 c. pecan halves (about 48)
1 c. butter
2/3 c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. all purpose flour
Vanilla Powdered Sugar Icing
Colored sugar (opt.)

On cookie sheet in single layer toast pecans in 325 degree oven about 12 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven; cool.

In medium saucepan heat and stir butter and brown sugar until butter is melted. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Cool.

Stir in flour until well mixed. Shape into 3/4" balls. Press pecan half into each ball; enclose nut in dough to form an oval. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 325 degree oven 18 to 20 minutes or until done. Remove from oven; cool completely on wire racks. Drizzle Vanilla Powdered Sugar Icing over cookies. If desired, sprinkle with colored sugar. Makes about 48.

VANILLA POWDERED SUGAR ICING: In a bowl stir together 1 cup sifted powdered sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and enough milk (about 4 to 5 teaspoons) to make of pour consistency.

Nice for Christmas cookie exchange.
