LAYERED LETTUCE SALAD 
1 head lettuce (about 6 c.)
1/2 tsp. pepper
6 hard cooked eggs
1 lb. bacon
1 c. mayonnaise
1/4 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
2 c. Swiss cheese
1 med. onion
2 c. mayonnaise plus 2 tbsp. sugar

Cook bacon and crumble in bits. Place 3 cups lettuce on bottom of large bowl. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and sugar.

Layer in order: peas, bacon and onion. crumble eggs and Swiss cheese next. Add last 3 cups lettuce on top. Spread mayonnaise and sugar on top of lettuce to seal edges.

Cover tightly and chill for several hours. When ready to serve, sprinkle with paprika. A delicious make-ahead salad.
