I changed this to 3/4 cup sugar, 3/4 cup vanilla flavored corn syrup, 1 1/2 cup peanut butter, added 1/2 stick Land 'o Lakes butter with olive oil and salt, and 10.5 oz of mini marshmallows with 7 cups of Rice Krispies. All I can say is WOW. My family cannot stop eating them!

Wow! Never thought this would b that great. Not greasy and very filling compared to regular rice krispie treats. Definitely try if you've never tried before. I did add about 2 more cups of rice krispies because it seemed it needed more :). Thanks!

When I was a child my grandmother made these and as soon as we hit her front door, we ran to the "castle" cookie jar in her kitchen where each one was individually wrapped. My children grew up with her goodies in the cookie jar too. When she passed away at age 95 I wanted her cookie jar. These bring back memories from 50 years ago and my wonderful grandmother.

These were soooo yummy! I used about 2/3 c. dark corn syrup and 1/3 light because I ran out of the light. Also used generic equivalent of Chocolate Cocoa Pebbles instead of Rice Krispies. My 5 kids loved it.

I made these peanut butter rice krispy treats with my granddaughter over the Easter holiday weekend and they were soooooo good!! They were better than regular rice crispy treats (with marshmallows) and easier to make too!! I couldn't get my husband to stop eating them!! Very, very, very good!!!!

I make these in bar form but you should try melting milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips and spreading it across the bars once they cool!

 Cheryl (Connecticut) says:
My recipe is the same but I butter a 9x13 pan and press into pan, refrigerate till very cool. Then melt a 12 oz bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips (add a small amount of paraffin or Crisco to make it easy to spread over the krispies. Refrigerate again till cool then cut into squares.. put in air tight container and keep refrigerated till serving.

I remember something like this as a child but they were cut into squares and vanilla ice cream placed in the middle then wrapped in foil and frozen, wonderful. I wonder if this recipe would work for that???

 Teresa (Oregon) replies:
I was raised on these! They were always the biggest hit at all our family gatherings -- I never even had the marshmallow ones until I was an adult -- the peanut butter ones are so much better! We always put them into a greased pan and cut into squares after they cooled. There was never any leftover to have to store with my family around!

This is how i make my rice crispy treats: Try pouring them into a pan... then once it is in there smash them down and put chocolate icing on top of it. It's amazing. :D

Here's a killer recipe for frosting for these - 1 cup chocolate chips and 1 cup butterscotch chips melted together. Yum!
