AMY'S COFFEE CAKE 
CAKE:

1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. warm, strong soda
1 c. warm, strong coffee
1 c. molasses or dark syrup
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt

TOPPING:

4 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. instant coffee
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and stir baking soda into warm coffee. Stir flour, spices and salt together. Alternately add liquid and dry ingredients to creamed mixture until well blended. Pour into greased 9x13 inch pan.

Spread topping over the batter, sprinkle with nuts and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. (To make topping; blend together topping ingredients except nuts.)
