OLD TIME LEMON PIE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
7 tbsp. flour (or part flour, part cornstarch)
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. water
3 egg whites
1 tsp. grated lemon peel
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. lemon juice

Cook, stirring constantly until thickened. Pour into baked crust. Beat egg whites; add 6 tablespoons sugar gradually, 1 teaspoon lemon juice. Put on top of pie, sealing edges. Bake at 350 degrees until lightly browned.
