4 egg whites
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Whip cream, whipped
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Strawberries or any fruit

Beat egg whites and salt until foamy. Add cream of tartar and beat until it stands in peaks. Add 2/3 cup sugar and beat well. Add vanilla and the rest of the sugar. Beat well. Spread on greased and floured brown paper on a cookie sheet. Bake at 250 for 60 minutes. Remove paper carefully.
