TURTLE CAKE 
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
1 stick butter
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped pecans
1 can flaked coconut

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
1/3 c. evaporated milk
3 1/2 tbsp. cocoa
Dash salt
1 box 4X sugar
1 c. chopped nuts

Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan. Pour in half the batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Melt caramels in top of a double boiler over low heat; add butter and milk and spread over hot cake. Sprinkle with chocolate chips, chopped nuts and coconut. Pour remaining batter on top; bake an additional 30 minutes in a 350 degree oven.

Frost while hot. Bring butter, milk, cocoa and salt to boil over medium heat. Add sugar and nuts, pouring over cake while both are hot.
