3 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. soft butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg, unbeaten
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla or
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. thick sour cream

Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Combine in large mixer bowl butter, sugar, egg and flavoring. Beat on high speed for 3 minutes. Stop mixer; add sour cream and then flour mixture gradually while beating on low speed for about 2 1/2 minutes. Scrape bowl as necessary.
