APPLE DUMPLINGS 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. baking powder
3/4 c. Crisco
1/2 c. milk

Sift flour, salt and baking powder together; cut in shortening until fine. Add milk all at once. Stir just enough to moisten flour. Roll out on floured surface and cut in pieces large enough to hold apple slices. Cut 5 to 6 apples in pieces and cover each piece with dough. Bake in large baking dish. Cover with sauce and bake in 375 degree oven.

SAUCE:

2 c. sugar
2 c. water
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
Butter (size of a walnut)

Mix all together. Cook 5 minutes. Pour over dumplings and bake.
