ITALIAN CREAM CHEESE CAKE | |
1 stick butter 1/2 c. vegetable shortening 2 c. sugar 5 eggs, separated 1 sm. can coconut 1 c. chopped nuts 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. vanilla Pinch of salt Mix sugar and butter. Beat. Add yolk of eggs; mix well. Add vegetable shortening. Sift flour, soda and salt. Add to first ingredients. Then coconut and nuts and vanilla. Add beaten white of eggs to batter. Bake in 3 cake pans at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. ICING: 1 (8 oz.) cream cheese 1 stick butter 1 box confectioners' sugar Nuts as desired Cream cheese and butter. Add sugar and nuts. Spread on cake. |
