FRIED OKRA 
4 c. sliced okra
1/2 c. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3/4 c. cornmeal
Vegetable oil

Combine okra, milk, and seasoning in a shallow dish. Let stand 1 hour or until most of the milk is absorbed. Dredge in cornmeal. Fry okra in deep hot oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towel. Serves 6-8.
