BUTTERMILK SPICE CAKE 
3/4 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1 c. pecans, chopped
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/4 c. buttermilk

ICING:

3 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1/4 c. butter
1 1/2 tsp. instant coffee
3 c. powdered sugar

Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, then beat 5 minutes at high speed. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Stir in nuts. Pour batter into 2 greased and floured pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Icing: Cream butter and cream cheese. Add 2 tablespoons water to coffee. Blend in coffee and powdered sugar.
