CRUST OR BAKED DUMPLINGS 
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. Crisco
2/3 c. milk
chicken broth, seasoned, enough to cover a 9 inch x 13 inch pan 1 inch deep
small amount of pepper

Mix flour, baking powder, salt, Crisco and milk to make a dough. Roll dough on floured board to 1/4 inch thick and cut into 2 inch squares. Place in broth, add pepper and butter.

Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 475°F.

Bisquick can be used instead of flour, baking powder, salt and Crisco.
