24 HOUR SLAW 
1 lg. cabbage, shredded
1 lg. red onion, sliced in rings
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. mustard seed
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tbsp. salt
1 c. white vinegar
1/2 c. Wesson oil
Bell pepper rings; optional

Put 2 tablespoons sugar in boiler. Pour remaining sugar over onion and cabbage. Toss. Let stand 5 minutes. Place other ingredients in boiler and bring to boil. Pour over cabbage and onion. Place in airtight container and let stand 24 hours in refrigerator.
