1 c. butter flavored shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 1/4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cream butter flavored shortening and sugar in large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer. Beat in egg, salt, vanilla and almond extract. Work in flour until blended. Force dough through cookie press onto greased baking sheets in desired shapes. Bake at 400 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes or until set, but not brown. Cool slightly before removing to cooling racks. Makes 4 to 4 1/2 dozen cookies. Note: Dough may be tinted using a few drops of food.
