RAISIN FILLED COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
Approx. 5 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening and sugar. Add vanilla and eggs, beat until fluffy. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Chill dough several hours. Add more flour if necessary.

Roll 1/8 inch thick. Cut with round cookie cutter. Spread with filling and top with another round of dough. Pinch edges together. Bake at 350 degrees 10-12 minutes. (4 dozen)

FILLING:

2 c. ground raisins
1/2 c. ground nuts
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
2 tbsp. flour
