STRAWBERRY SALAD 
1/4 c. sliced almonds
1 tbsp. plus 1 tsp. sugar
1/3 head iceberg lettuce, torn into bite size pieces
1/3 bunch romaine lettuce, torn into bite size pieces
2 med. stalks celery, chopped
Green onions, with tops, thinly sliced
2 1/2 c. fresh strawberries, sliced
1 (11 oz.) can mandarin orange segments, drained

SWEET SOUR DRESSING:

1/4 c. vegetable oil
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash pepper
Dash of red pepper sauce

Cook almonds and sugar in small skillet, over low heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is melted and almonds are coated. Place on freezer paper or waxed paper. Cool and break apart. Store at room temperature. Place remaining ingredients in a large salad bowl and toss thoroughly with Sweet Sour dressing. Garnish with additional strawberries and almonds.
