SOUTHERN PECAN PIE 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. corn syrup
1/4 c. melted butter
3 eggs, well beaten
1 c. pecan halves
1 unbaked pie shell

Mix sugar, syrup, and butter together. Add eggs and pecans. Fill unbaked pie shell with mixture. Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes longer. Serve cold or hot. Top with unsweetened whipped cream, if desired. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
