PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 tbsp. sifted dried egg (or 1 whole fresh egg)
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tbsp. water

Blend shortening and peanut butter. Gradually add the sugars, cream thoroughly and sift together the egg, flour, soda and salt. Add alternately with water to the creamed mixture. Roll the dough into balls about 1 inch. Place on sheet and press with fork. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
