NAN'S HAM WELLINGTON | |
5 lb. canned ham 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. butter 3 tbsp. cooking oil 1 egg 2 tbsp. ice water Heat ham in 325 degree oven for 1 hour. Meanwhile, mix flour and salt; cut in butter. Lightly beat together egg and cooking oil. Blend into flour mixture. Stir in ice water until dough forms a ball. Wrap in wax paper and refrigerate 1 hour. Remove ham from oven and allow to cool. Roll chilled dough to a 12 x 16 inch rectangle about 1/8 inch thick. Wrap around ham tucking edges under and trim away excess pastry. Place on baking sheet and pierce with fork times. Bake in 425 degree oven for 15 minutes. Trim with dough daisies or other decorations.. Then cook 10 to 15 more minutes until golden brown. Serves 12 to 14. |
