P. K.'S LEMON DESSERT | |
1 lg. can Carnation milk 1 scant c. sugar Juice of three lemons Grated rind of one lemon Vanilla wafers, crushed Chill milk until very cold. Whip until stiff. Add sugar and mix well. Then add lemon rind and lemon juice and mix. Line a pan with crushed vanilla wafers. Pour mixture in, then sprinkle a few crushed wafers on top. Freeze. This is a preacher's kid dessert. One day when Randy (Sr.) was a little boy, he was playing at the home of a friend. The child's mother served this treat to the two little boys. The P.K. liked it so much he asked if he could take the recipe home to his mother. For many years she made it for him and just recently she found the original recipe and passed it on to our family. |
