MOM'S CHERRY MOUNTAIN PIE 
1 stick butter
1 c. flour
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 #2 can red, sour pitted cherries
1/4 tsp. salt
1 souffle dish (or lg. pyrex casserole)

Add 1 cup sugar to cherries. Dissolve. 10 x 13 inch baking pan. Melt butter in casserole. Make batter of flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, salt and milk. Pour batter into melted butter. Do Not Stir. Pour cherries into middle of butter. Do Not Stir. Set casserole in pan to catch overflow. Cook for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Serve with cream or ice cream.
