ROCKY MOUNTAIN APPLE PIE 
3 to 4 lbs. cooking apples, pared, cored and sliced into 1/8's
1 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
5 tbsp. flour
1/4 to 1/2 cube butter
Pie crust

Line pie pan with pie crust. Layer apple slices in a circular pattern on the crust. Mix sugar, flour and spices together. Sprinkle over the top and dot with butter. Bake in a preheated 450 degree oven 10 minutes then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 45 to 60 minutes or until apples are soft.

Serves 6 to 8.
