1 1/4 c. granulated sugar
2 sticks butter and butter
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. lemon

Mix together. Fill flour sifter full of flour, approximately 5 or 6 cups, 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt. Mix with ingredients above. Chill dough. Cut outs or drop. Bake at 350 degrees for 7 to 8 minutes or soft to the touch. Makes 5 dozen. Soft cookie.
