GOOD CHIP COOKIES | |
1 c. shortening or 1/2 c. oil 1/2 c. butter 1 c. brown sugar 1 c. white sugar 2 tsp. vanilla 4 eggs, 3 if lg. 3 c. flour 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. salt 2 1/2 c. oatmeal 2 c. chocolate or butterscotch chips or raisins 1 c. chopped nuts Use large bowl. Soften butter and shortening. Stir until creamy. Add sugars and vanilla. Cream some more. Add eggs, beat until fluffy. In another bowl combine flour, soda, salt and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture 1 cupful at a time, mixing well. Mix in oatmeal same way, adding chips and nuts last 1 cup at a time. Batter will be very thick. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. |
