1 1/4 c. flour 1/2 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla 6 tbsp. softened butter 1 egg In large bowl combine all ingredients beat at medium speed until dough forms, about 5 minutes. Chill 2 hours or up to 4 days. To form cookies, a teaspoon of dough, roll into a snake roll one snake in colored sugar, then twist two together and shape into candy cane. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool before removing from pan. Makes about 2 dozen. | |
