I made this recipe tonight and it is delicious! A slight change though, I switched out the regular milk with cream of coconut! Omg SOOOOO good!

Just tried this with gluten-free bisquick. Had to double it needed an extra 1/3 cup milk. Used frozen peaches from last season (with cornstarch, sugar and allspice already added before freezing), so had to simmer them a while to thicken up before getting started. I used a ceramic baking dish and took heed of another reviewers suggestion to heat the butter and pan on the oven first. Seems to have worked beautifully! It is just out of the oven, looks amazing and very impressive. Now for the taste test...

I have not tried this recipe but have one just as easy. I stick of butter melted in 9 x 13 pan. In bowl mix 1 cup each sugar, flour and milk and 2 tsp baking powder (non aluminum) a pinch of baking soda if using buttermilk. Pour into the baking pan, pour a large can of sliced peaches on top and bake 350°F for 30 to 40 minutes. Other fruit may be used or a combo of two or more.

I changed up the recipe a little and simmered my raw peaches with cinnamon, sugar and a touch of cayenne for ten minutes before adding it to the rest of my dish. I like my deserts a little on the savory side.It tasted awesome!!

SOOO EASY a caveman could do it! "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" works great and I didn't see the need to melt it. If you use canned peaches, the more juice you add the better!! 30 minutes wasn't long enough to cook through all the dough so I left it in for an hour and it was perfect! But once you eat it with vanilla ice cream, you can't eat it any other way!! YUM!!! Even the cold left over was delicious!!!

A little ice cream or whipped cream would make this a five star recipe.

Great and easy recipe! Also, since Bisquick is now available Gluten-free, it is easy to adapt to a gluten-free recipe. I have made this several times with fresh fruit only - apples (added cinnamon to the batter), peaches, figs (talk about awesome!, blackberries (needed a little more sugar for these) and now have it in the oven with some fresh cherries. You can't even tell that it is gluten-free!

I doubled this the first time but didn't add any time so be sure not to make that mistake. Making it again tonight and can't wait to eat it without the doughy center!

Couldn't have been easier! And yummy! I added a little cinnamon and vanilla. I had fresh peaches and used the boiling water technique to quickly take the skin off. Just boil some water, put whole peaches in for about a minute, then ran cold water over them and the skin just slides off. Much easier than peeling.

Excellent recipe! My very first cobbler. Simple to prepare, yet tastes like you spent countless hours and lots of elbow grease to make it! SO SIMPLE, I'M 12 AND EVEN I COULD MAKE IT! Very tasty! I used fresh peaches and they were wonderful in this cobbler. I did not have milk at the time so instead I used some water and a splash of french vanilla soy coffee cream. (Sounds odd, but very good!) I also used nutmeg and cinnamon within the batter along with a sprinkle of nutmeg on top. Lastly, I used regular sugar on top, and it turned out wonderfully! Once again, awesome recipe! Very yummy! :)

This is a great recipe. It's exactly one I was taught when I was a 12 year old Boy Scout in 1962. It does work with other fruit too. I've used peaches, apricots, apples (canned) and blackberries. I had to make a simple syrup to add to the berries but it worked wonderful. Also, of you don't like brown sugar on top you can use coarse grained sugar. I made this today and my 5 year old grandson did half the work.
