APPLE CUSTARD PIE 
9 inch unbaked pie shell
Peeled apples, thinly sliced, 1 cup
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
4 eggs, slightly beaten
2 c. milk, scalded
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt

Arrange apple slices on bottom of pie shell. Combine 1 tablespoon of the sugar with cinnamon and nutmeg, sprinkle over apples. Beat together eggs, remaining sugar, milk, vanilla and salt. Pour over apples in pie shell. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 30 minutes.

Cool pie before serving.
