BAKED FRENCH TOAST | |
1 sm. (8-9 oz.) day old loaf of French bread 3 eggs 3 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 1/4 c. milk 1/2 c. flour 6 tbsp. dark brown sugar 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. butter 1 c. fresh or frozen blueberries 1 c. sliced strawberries 1. Grease 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Diagonally cut bread into 1 inch slices and place in baking dish. Set aside. 2. In medium bowl lightly beat eggs, sugar and vanilla. Stir in milk until well blended. Pour mixture over bread in baking dish, turning slices to coat well. Cover and refrigerate overnight. 3. Heat oven to 375 degrees. In small bowl combine flour, brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 4. Turn slices over in baking dish. Scatter blueberries over bread. Sprinkle evenly with crumb mixture. Bake about 40 minutes or until golden brown. 5. Before serving cut into squares and top with strawberries. |
