CHERRY BON BONS 
3 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. Pet milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
3 1/2 c. (1 lb.) powdered sugar
1/3 c. unsalted nuts, finely cut
1/3 c. candied cherries, finely cut

Melt butter in a 2 quart saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in milk, vanilla and salt. Add powdered sugar gradually and mix well. Turn out on board sprinkled lightly with powdered sugar. Work with hands until smooth. Add nuts and cherries; mix well. Shape into 1 or 2 rolls about 1 inch across and wrap in waxed paper. Chill until firm. Remove paper and cut into 1/2 inch slices. If desired, roll can be stored in refrigerator and sliced as needed.
