CHERRY BON BONS 
3 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt
3 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/3 c. nuts
1/3 c. candied cherries

Melt butter in a 2 quart saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in milk, vanilla and salt. Gradually add sugar. Turn onto a board sprinkled with additional powdered sugar. Knead until smooth. Add nuts and cherries. Shape into a roll; wrap in waxed paper. Chill until firm. Slice 1/2 inch thick. Yield: 25 pieces.
