ST. NICHOLAS COOKIES 
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 lg. egg, beaten
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
3/4 tsp. ginger
1 oz. chopped blanched almonds

Cream sugars, butter and egg. Add dry ingredients. Add almonds. Chill. Roll out thin and cut into shapes or chill in a roll and cut off slices. Bake at 400 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes.
