APPLE CAKE 
2 apples
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. oil
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 tbsp. rye whiskey (optional - according to your taste)

Peel apples and core. Chunk apples, add sugar, set aside. Sift flour, add baking powder, soda and cinnamon. Beat egg with oil. Add to apple mixture. Combine. Add flour mixture. Mix well. Add raisins and nuts. (Mixture will be stiff). Place into greased and floured 8 or 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 45-60 minutes.
