APPLE DAPPLE CAKE 
1 1/4 c. cooking oil
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped pecans
3 c. peeled, raw apples

Mix together oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Sift and add flour, salt and soda. Fold in the pecans and apples. Bake in greased tube pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until done. When cake is almost done, make topping.

TOPPING:

1 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. milk
1 stick butter

Mix and cook for 3 minutes. Pour hot topping over hot cake and let remaining pan for 2 hours. Remove and turn right side up.
