APPLE DAPPLE CAKE 
1 3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. oil
3 eggs
3 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. apples, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts, chopped

GLAZE:

1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Walnut halves

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan. Mix together sugar, oil and eggs. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Add apples, vanilla and nuts. Pour into pan and bake 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool 15 minutes and remove from pan. Poke holes with toothpick in top of cake.

Boil together brown sugar, butter and milk for 2 1/2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add vanilla. Cool 15 to 20 minutes or until thickened. Carefully spoon over top of cake allowing glaze to drizzle over sides. Garnish with walnuts.
