GREEN BEAN VEGETABLE FRY
1/2 bag frozen green beans
1 sm. can mushrooms (or 4-5 med./lg. fresh mushrooms), chopped
1-2 tbsp. butter (start off with 1 tbsp.)
1/2 sm. onion, chopped
1/4 c. slivered almonds
1/2 can onion rings

BEGINNING HINTS: Keep green beans frozen until actual use. Although butter tends to burn if not carefully watched - I like the flavor better than using oil. If you have a well-seasoned cast-iron skillet, the butter won't tend to burn as much as it would in another type of cookware. (You'll still have to watch it closely.)

Use a hot skillet and add butter and onions. Saute onions until "clear" (done). Add frozen green beans. Stir fry until almost done, then add drained mushrooms and slivered almonds. Cook a few minutes longer. When done, the green beans will be crisp and tasty. A few moments before serving add crumbled onion rings to body of green beans - saving a few whole rings to sprinkle on top for "looks".
