DATE AND NUT LOAF | |
1 tsp. baking soda 1 c. dates, cut 1 c. boiling water 3/4 c. brown sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. butter 1 egg 1/2 c. walnuts 1 1/2 c. bread flour Sprinkle the soda over cut dates and pour boiling water over broth. Stir sugar, salt, butter and egg. Add nut, date mixture and sifted flour. Turn into a greased pan and bake in slow oven (300 degrees) for 1 hour. Slice and spread with cream cheese. |
