AUDREY'S POPPY SEED CAKE 
1 pkg. poppy seeds
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 egg yolks
1 tsp. almond extract
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 egg whites

Soak poppy seeds overnight in buttermilk. Beat butter, shortening, sugar, egg yolks and almonds extract. Sift dry ingredients, flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Mix 2 bowls together and add alternately with buttermilk and poppy seeds. Beat egg whites and fold in. Grease two loaf pans or Bundt pan. Put about 1/4 of batter in pan. Mix together (1/3 cup sugar, 3/4 cup of cinnamon, 1 tbsp. flour). Sprinkle over batter. Add remaining batter. Bake at 350 degrees about 1 hour.
