2 c. gum drops, cut up
2 1/2 c. chopped pecans, or other nuts
1/2 lb. raisins
1 c. glazed cherries
3 c. dates, cut up
1/2 c. flour

Mix above in a large pan and set aside.

2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla
3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Add to flour 1 cup applesauce, stir in gun drop mixture. Mix well. Bake at 275 degrees for 2 to 3 hours. Put a tin of water in the oven.
