GUM DROP FRUIT CAKE 
4 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
1 lb. white raisins
1 1/2 lbs. gumdrops, cut up
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans, chopped
1 c. Crisco
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. hot water
1 1/2 c. applesauce
1 can coconut

Cream sugar and butter, add eggs and beat well. Dissolve soda in hot water. Add flour and other dry ingredients. Add raisins, applesauce, coconut and gumdrops. Save a little flour to mix with gumdrops before adding. Add vanilla and mix well. Pour mixture into 2 loaf pans which have been greased. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
