CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE 
2 1/4 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/4 c. cold water
2 oz. chocolate, melted
1/2 c. chopped pecans
3/4 c. shortening
3 eggs
1 c. (6 oz.) chocolate chips

Combine all ingredients except chocolate chips and pecans. Blend on low speed until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed.

Pour in greased and floured sheet cake pan or cupcake pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans over cake dough. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes for cake, 20 to 25 minutes for cupcakes.
