VIENNESE CRESCENTS 
1 c. walnuts or pecans, finely ground
1 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Knead all ingredients to a smooth dough and shape a teaspoon of dough at a time into small crescents, about 1 1/2 inches long. If dough becomes too soft, place in the refrigerator for awhile. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet in a 350 degree oven for 15 to 17 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool 1 minute. Remove to rack. While warm, roll cookie in sugar.

Makes about 6 dozen.
