CRUNCHY TOFFEE IN THE MICROWAVE | |
3/4 c. butter 1 1/4 c. granulated sugar 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. water 1 c. unblanched almonds, slivered 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. chocolate chips Combine butter, sugar, salt, water and almonds in a buttered 2 quart glass measure. Microwave, uncovered, on high 4 minutes. Stir well and microwave, uncovered, on high about 8 minutes or until candy is light brown (290 degrees). Add soda and pour onto cookie sheet. Microwave chocolate chips in a 1 cup glass measure on high for 1 1/2 minutes or until soft. Stir and spread over candy. Cool at room temperature and break into pieces. |
